Slow Food Columbia is one of 200+ Slow Food USA chapters, located in Columbia, South Carolina. Our mission is to support the movement behind GOOD, CLEAN and FAIR foodways in the Midlands and beyond. Our convivium hosts workshops, potlucks and other events throughout the year to celebrate local + seasonal flavors; to showcase the culinary talents of our region's chefs, farmers, + artisan producers; to strengthen connections between members of our local food community; and to educate the public about the importance of knowing where your food comes from.

Next Meeting and Slow Food Cola Buzz

We're looking forward to seeing everyone this Wednesday, April 16, at 6:00 pm at Flying Saucer. I will aim to get there a little earlier in order to reserve some space outside so we can all hear each other talk! On the agenda:

* Regional leaders conference call on April 9 -- I'll report what was covered
* Our convivium's public event(s) in the Spring/Summer
* Ideas to start raising money to send Ben and Kristen to Terra Madre!
* Terra Madre 2008
* Anything else you'd like to address

Also, check out the Slow Food Columbia convivium coverage in The Daily Digress.

It was great meeting a bunch of new people at the All-Local Farmer's Market on Saturday. We hope you can join us on Wednesday for the meeting and help put our ideas into action.
