*How do we define sustainable?
The first question: does the producer, chef, host or business entity follow Slow Food's mission of promoting "Good, Clean and Fair" foodways?
For this event, we define sustainable as meaning one or more of the following: as close to organic as possible; as little impact on air and water systems as possible; short transport routes; fair wages to workers; a passion for high quality ingredients with excellent flavor; and practicing conservation on a day-to-day level.

p.s. Bring donations for The Food Boutique to the party if you can!
The Food Boutique serves as a haven, welcoming clients for return visits as long as they have a need, but believes if you “give a woman a can of soup she’ll eat for a day, but teach a woman extreme couponing and she’ll feed her family for a lifetime.“ At the core of Food Boutique’s mission is to empower clients to move past one’s difficult situations. After several visits, return clients are required to provide proof they have participated in an “Extreme Couponing 101” workshop and give back a small amount of “sweat-equity.” The Food Boutique is currently located at the Shoppes at Woodhill near Target off Garners Ferry Road and can be contacted at fbcolumbia@gmail.com or at www.healthyfoodboutique.com.
