Slow Food Columbia is one of 200+ Slow Food USA chapters, located in Columbia, South Carolina. Our mission is to support the movement behind GOOD, CLEAN and FAIR foodways in the Midlands and beyond. Our convivium hosts workshops, potlucks and other events throughout the year to celebrate local + seasonal flavors; to showcase the culinary talents of our region's chefs, farmers, + artisan producers; to strengthen connections between members of our local food community; and to educate the public about the importance of knowing where your food comes from.

Slow Food at Indie Grits is set for April 14, 2013!

Returning for its third year, Slow Food at Indie Grits is on for Sunday, April 14, 2013!

This showcase of the Midlands' most sustainable chefs is part cocktail party, part noshfest, part green networking event. Mark those calendars, y'all.

Featuring tasting tables with the most conscientious chefs in Columbia, with a Slow Food community potluck, this food and drink fiesta is an official partner of the Nickelodeon Theatre's 7th annual Indie Grits Festival.

The Sustainable Chefs Showcase features only chefs from restaurants that frequently buy, serve and promote food produced both locally AND sustainably (organic, pesticide-free, fair wages, etc.).

Each chefs' tasting item-- as well as each potluck dish -- must have something both local and 
sustainably produced as its main ingredient.
